Encoding
Step One of the PortalVideo process is to encode and upload your media. The UpLink Portal combines both encoding and uploading capabilities into one easy to use application.
Once you've captured your video, simply connect your camera to a PC or Mac via a Firewire connection (either directly or through a trancoder box) and hit the record button. A one hour interview is encoded on-the-fly, creating a small QuickTime media file about 150 megabytes in size.
Once the interview is over, login to PortalVideo servers and upload your media files. Uploading happens wherever you have an Internet connection — at your facility, on location, or in your hotel room. Click the upload button and all files in the list will be uploaded. It's that simple.
